A Grid consists of a number of resources and layers with different levels of implementation. Grids are organized according to taxonomy and hence result in different types. The following are some of the types of grids
- Information Grid- provide efficient and simple access to data while hiding details such as platform, location and other details
- Compute Grid- provide compute or processing power (CPU) by aggregating it from distributed computing systems
- Services Grid - provide scalable and reliable access to services.
